cant buy or download from apps to iMac
I cannot download purchased software or even buy at the app store on my iMac desktop. what is going on? Why not and when will this ... problem Apple will never admit to ... be fixed?

Changing my credit card on file with Apple -- which was perfectly valid -- solved the issue. At no time during the several months Apple kept telling me I couldn't purchase or download my owned apps did they ever even remotely suggest there was an issue with the payment process. I cannot fathom this. The rejection clearly stemmed from difficulties Apple was having with the payment method: and that could NOT be included in the rejection notice? Instead, i need to throw away all my apps, change my appleID, update my operating system, and go through a host of contortions, none of which had any effect on the problem. I hope this helps others in the same dilemma.
