Hey there mspeag,

We understand your iPhone SE shuts off as soon as you disconnect it from the charger. We'll be happy to help.

This could be related to an issue with the battery or with charging. To begin, we'd recommend checking the health of your battery. Go to: Settings > Battery > Battery Health

There may be an alert there about the battery. You can learn more about the battery health here: iPhone Battery and Performance

If you don't see any issues with the battery, move onto these charging troubleshooting steps: If your iPhone or iPod touch won't charge

However, if you still experience issues, reach out to Apple Support or have your device inspected. Reference the links below.

The battery health was good when he ran the check. So thinking that isn’t the problem. If we could go to genius session we would but the store is closed and we are Covid cautious, so mall not great place. A new battery definitely worth and would love for genius opinion. But Covid.

Any other ideas? I googled, and didn’t see anything about update causing grief like this. Last update not too long ago. Google results not great, implied could be chip or deeper to hardware. Would love to push some more life to the phone, but......any other ideas?
