recurring automated message

I have an iphone 7 and recently have been getting an automated response message from an email address up to 12 times a day even though I have not written to them in the last 2 to 3 weeks. How do I stop this message recurring all the time. I have contacted the company involved and their IT people have checked it out but could not find anything wrong at their end, they say it is at my end, as its an email I do not know how to stop this. Can you help?

You can block the email address using these steps: Block phone numbers, contacts, and emails on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

If you do not want to block the email address, you will want to get back into contact with the sender or your own email provider.
