Apple Watch band
I received a band with my new Apple SE watch. The band is not locking into the watch. I have tried other bands and it locks just fine.

then it's a purely mechanical system, so if the notches on the band connector are damaged it could explain what you experience, it would seem likely as you can get other bands to work
