Fitness + App not available on iPad!

I have an iPad 3rd generation running iOS 14.3 and have subscribed to Fitness on my iPhone ... but can’t install the Apple Fitness app on the iPad. Can’t see the app on the App Store and when I go directly to the URL, I get the message « This app requires features not available on this device ». I get the same message on my wife’s iPad Air 2. Both devices are said to be Fitness+ compatible!
