exploding iwatch 3

My apple watch series 3 bought Dec 2017 .. just exploded while on the charger .. nothing damaged apart from the watch is 2 major bits .. screen and pack part

has this happened to anyone else

Crack appeared after charging Apple Watch 3 Has anyone had an issue with their watch (series 3) cracking around the edges recently after charging and have you had any good resolution through Apple? My watch is out of warranty, but has zero impact damage. Cracked along the beveled edge on three sides.
