After verifying the "unidentified app", i have to constantly go to system preferences to open to app which makes it very troublesome as i cannot double-click to open the "unidentified app" every time I log in to my mac. Is there a way where i can always allow the "unidentified app"?

I was able to view the application in Finder when I clicked the button. I have since restarted the computer so that window which I only minimized is no longer there. I cannot find the file when I search for it. Now I downloaded a new antivirus software which is not detecting anything. Malware Pop-up on installed application... and the uninstall program... I searched the help articles but the option provided was an "Open anyway" that would appear next to the option of "App Store and identified developers". What do I do if the "Open anyway" does not pop up? I was able to install an app but cannot open it or remove it? For info, I am running macOS 12.0.1 and the program is Cisco anyconnect 4.7.04056. I realize this is a dated version but I didn't have trouble on my other, older Mac.

Malware - commonupdater Hello, I recently tried to download an online game to play on my MacBook. Unfortunately it did not work and something called 'commonupdater' downloaded with it. It seems to control the internet (redirects you away from google search engine, creates a ghost safari page on my bottom line of open apps). I moved the app to trash, but it has reappeared a few weeks later. Is there any safe programme that can scan my macOS for any dangerous malware? Thanks for any advice!

It should really only ask you once.

Open your Applications folder highlight the app

now press and hold the Control key and click on the app

from the sub menu click Open.

If you get the "this app came from an unidentified developer etc etc" dialogue

click on Open.

The next time you open the app you should not be asked again.
