iPad seems to have a glitch

I think it may be because the iPad is cracked but I’m not fully sure. But the issue with the iPad is that it will randomly stop working correctly and you can only use certain parts of the screen, and I think that’s where the cracks come in. Idk if it’s just because it’s Christmas time and everyone is getting new stuff, but idk how to make it stop. Although I’ve seen several comments saying to hold down the power and home button to reset it, but idk if it will factory reset and delete everything.... or just reset it so it maybe stops. Any ideas?? The iPad is a generation 7 btw.
