Why is the time lapse on my iphone 12 pro max lagging?

Yes I am having the same issue.

When I am taking time lapse videos the screen is lagging but when I watch the footage back it's okay. I reduced the quality of video in the settings which helped a little but it is still lagging in the preview of the video I'm recording. I did not have this problem with my XR.

Just to confirm, are you seeing this issue when looking at the preview of the video you're recording, or is the recorded video coming out laggy, choppy, or blurry?

If only seeing this issue in the video preview, then we do want to let you know that this would be expected behavior, and this is due to the increased exposure time for each video frame.
