this is what my email is telling me to do: To install your software, you simply launch the Mac App Store, click Redeem found under Quick Links and enter your content code(s). The content codes from your purchase are included in the PDF document provided with this email.

Thanks for these additional details! If you scroll to the bottom of the App Store, you should see an option there that says "Redeem". At that point, you should be able to enter the redemption code for the software and install it, provided that it's currently available in the App Store.
