You will need to Reset HomePod - Apple Support

first try to restart it with the Home app as I mentioned to do in my earlier post.

You will need to Set up HomePod again if you choose Reset. Choose Restart, it is easier

Try this way first:

Open the Home App - go to the Room it’s in

Deep press on the HomePod icon to bring up settings, scroll down to the gear icon, tap that, scroll to the bottom to Reset HomePod - then select Restart HomePod

If you ask Siri a question, is there sound then? Is this just for music?

if it’s just music it might be the wifi cutting out - reboot your wifi modem.

You can also try restarting HomePod from the Home App:

Open the Home App - go to the Room it’s in

Deep press on the HomePod icon to bring up settings, scroll down to the gear icon, tap that , scroll to the bottom to Reset HomePod - then select Restart HomePod

I forgot to ask if you’ve updated your software yet. This needs to be done right away, so do that if you’ve not already done so. You can see where to find that setting in your screenshot Update HomePod

You scrolled too fast if you missed the gear icon. Tap on it. It’s right here:

Once you tapped the gear icon you will be in settings. Scroll down to Reset HomePod, or yours might just say Restart HomePod.

Tap Reset HomePod - if it just says Restart, then tap that to restart it

Once you tap Reset (if yours says that) The next screen will have three options. Tap Restart. HomePod will restart and you will know it’s restarting because the top will be a white swirling light. You will know it’s complete once you can ask Siri a question and it responds. Then test your music.

  • Change AirPlay Settings
  1. In the Home app on your iOS or iPadOS device, tap , then tap Home Settings.
  2. Tap Allow Speaker & TV Access and choose one of the following options, choose Everyone to test it
    • Everyone: Gives access to everyone nearby.
    • Anyone On the Same Network: Gives access to those connected to your Wi-Fi network.
    • Only People Sharing This Home: Gives access to those you’ve invited to share your home (in the Home app) and who are connected to your Wi-Fi network.

  • I know it’s about music, just wanted to confirm your volume works, if you ask Siri a question, does it respond? Can you hear it?
