I just bought a phone about an hour ago, and i can get $225 for my old phone, but it is only letting me get a gift card. Is there a way I can get cash, since i just bought a phone and there is no use for the gift card?

Apple Trade In will credit your payment method if you do the trade in as part of a purchase. Or you can get a gift card anytime. There is no option for a cash payment. See: https://www.apple.com/shop/trade-in
