I have a black box on my Home Screen with 4 bars -3 white, 1 black. It’s stuck on there... I can’t get it off.

Hello Jack.Roberts21,

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities! We see that you have a gray square in the middle of your iPhone with signal bars in it. We're happy to help!

Let's start with the basics. Close all of your running apps, and then Restart your iPhone. Also, do you have any available carrier settings updates for your iPhone? To check, go to Settings > General > About. If an update is available, you'll see an option to update your carrier settings.

If the problem continues, the next step you would want to try is resetting all of your device settings back to their defaults. Keep in mind this will revert all settings that you've customized or changed (including things like your Wallpaper and alarms). This also means you may need to reconfigure some of those settings including network settings (so be sure you have your Wi-Fi password handy).

Before you do this step, it’s a good idea to be sure you have a recent backup of your device. You can learn more about backing up your data and settings here: About backups for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

To reset all settings, go to Settings > General > Reset and choose "Reset All Settings."

Best Regards!
