Email on New Fire HD 10

I keep trying to set-up my email on my new fire and I follow the apple instructions on getting an app generated password and all the all the steps to see up the for the servers. I keep getting "Unable to connect to server" "Unable to open server connection" Tried to use the mail.mac.com and mail.me.com servers and email and the generated password has a dash between each 4 letters, tried both with and without dashes. Anyone got anything else.

Found out on a Amazon Fire Tablet, things are not as clear cut as you may think or find. When you first enter your email on your Fire, then click "Advanced Setting" Then pretty much follow the apple instructions at https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202304, some things that autofilled on the advance settings page by your Fire will be wrong and you will have to change to what the Apple support page has. However on the advanced page of your Fire, do not check the box at the bottom for SSL or on the out going mail port, only check the one at the top/begining of the Advance Setting page for the SSL, otherwise it will not connect to the apple server. I have attached example of page settings that got me connected, the email is just a made up one. The next button to connect is under the keyboard, so you will have to scroll up some to find it.
