previous owner is not available

I bought the iPad from the previous owner and made sure they logged out when I purchased it. But somewhere during an iOS upgrade, the old ID came back as logged in and now when I try to erase it or try to login, there an activation lock. I have tried to reach the previous owner and not gotten any responses. What can Apple to remove the activation lock?

Apple will not do anything unless you’re the original owner with the original receipt (with serial number printed on it) from Apple or the Apple Authorized seller who first sold it at retail.


Otherwise, without the AppleID and password used, you cannot disable activation lock.
