iPhone 12 battery optimised charging not working

We understand that you’re concerned that Optimized Battery Charging isn’t working as expected on your new iPhone 12 mini. From your screenshot we can see that you connected your iPhone to power at around 12:00 a.m., and your iPhone charged to 100% overnight. 

It sounds like you were used to seeing the notification illustrated in this article:

From your screenshot, it appears that your iPhone becomes fully charged during the night. If your iPhone is already fully charged, you won’t see the notification because the charging has already completed.

Let’s make sure we have the same understanding. From your first post, it appears you’re making the determination that Optimized Battery Charging isn’t working because you don’t see the notification on the screen when you first wake your iPhone in the morning. Is this correct?

If it is, you shouldn’t see the notification if your iPhone is already charged to 100%. 

Optimized Battery Charging is designed to allow you to charge up to 80% quickly when you need it. After a number of days it learns your routine, and it will predict when you will have it on the charger and locked for a period of time (e.g. charging overnight). This is when it will allow itself to charge to 100%, and when you see this message.

If you don’t see the notification on the charger, it’s likely because your iPhone is already fully charged, so it does not need to “finish charging”.

I need clarifications.

suppose my battery is at 30% and I place it on charger at 11 pm in the night. And leave the phone untouched for some time. Will I get the notification for optimised charging any time during the night.

min my case neither do I get any notification nor does the charging stop at 80% during the night. It continuously charges to 100% within the next 1-2 hours and reaches 100% by 01 am in the night.

am I not understanding correctly or is there any problem.

I’m having the same issue with my 12 mini. I switched from an iPhone 11.

I purchased in December and battery life is already at 99 percent.

I have also noticed the optimization feature does not seem to be working. Each night when I put it on the charger it is fully charged within an hour and remains charging for the next 5 or so hours while I am asleep. Also my location customization is on and it recognizes my home.
