External Monitor Dimming on Dark Backgrounds

The external display connected via hdmi to macbook 12" 2018 dims it's contrast on dark web pages and applications, making other apps with texts on white almost unreadable. The issue appeared since Mojave. The system preferences of "Auto adjust brightness" and energy saving are turned off, but issue still exist.

The macbook display at the same time doesn't affected and works perfectly. I also work on the same monitor in solo mode with Mac Mini, and it is also doesn't affected. Only in dual monitor mode on external display.

The monitor itself is IPS so not an issue. I'm googling it for almost a year, and see only the some named question on this forum unanswered..

Hey artemkkk,

We would like to help with your external display. We've got your back on this.

Start by following the steps to Reset NVRAM or PRAM on your Mac The settings reset will include sound volume, display resolution, startup-disk selection, time zone, and recent kernel panic information. The exact settings vary by the Mac you are using.

Use external monitors with your Mac with the suggested settings on this page. Let us know if this makes a difference.

Cheers.
