Audio device disappears when launching garageband

I´m using Steinberg UR22mkII as audio device. As you can see on the video attached, my mac (Macbook pro 2017) detects the device. However as soon as I start Garageband the UK22mkII disappears from the audio list and is not available as a source in Garageband.

I´m using MacOS Big Sur, version 11.1and all Steinberg drivers are up to date.


Any help would be much appreciated!!

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. We understand that your audio device shows in System Preferences, but it doesn't appear as a source in GarageBand. If you haven't already, make sure GarageBand has permission to use that device. Those steps can be found in the following guide: Control access to your microphone on Mac
