Was my Iphone Hacked or is this Apple thinking it was stolen?

Recently I moved from Iphone7 Plus to Iphone 11ProMax. I transfered all the data and decided to wipe the old iphone.

After I did it and try to set it up again I encountered Remote Control, by company TechData I proceeded and it said my Iphone is stolen, call police. I clicked Start Enrollment and my Iphone loaded as new and then someones started deleting all the files, and now I have this screen. I immediatly switched it off after that. Can anyone verify if it is a scam or what? And if it is how to go about solving this problem.

Thanks

Its not a scam, but it also has nothing to do with apple.

It appears that iPhone was managed by Techdata and they have not released it.

Where did you buy this iPhone from? It seems it was originally tied to them. And it was never released while you used it.

Also, did you by any chance hand the iPhone over to someone to wipe or set up? That message is just a wallpaper, so you can go into settings->wallpaper and change it.
