Canada Fido SIM card is not supported when using iPhone XS Max purchased from China mainland

Hello all, happy holidays!

I want to switch from SE (Canada bought) to XS Max (China mainland bought), both are unlocked. I have transferred data successfully, but XS shows SIM card is not supported when I switch it from SE. I have an open contract with FIDO, anyone knows how to solve the problem? Thank you.

iPhone XS Max, iOS 14

Hello Pandaman33,

We understand that you're seeing a message saying the SIM card isn't supported after moving it from your iPhone SE to your iPhone XS, and we'd love to help.

This page has some information and steps that can help if you're seeing an error regarding the SIM card: If you see 'invalid SIM' or 'no SIM' on your iPhone or iPad

You mentioned that both devices are unlocked; just to confirm, did you purchase the iPhone XS unlocked, or did you request to have it unlocked for use with another carrier?

If the iPhone XS was recently unlocked for use with another carrier, please check out the "Get help" portion of the following page for some additional steps that may need to be completed: How to unlock your iPhone for use with a different carrier

Take care!
