It won’t let me save mp4 file

i am trying to save a mp4 file from one drive to the photos app and it says i cant. how do i fix this?!

Photos doesn't import mp4 files from my Mac I have created an iMovie video and stored it on my Mac as an mp4 since I can't actually share it to Photos directly from iMovie! That alone is pretty bad since both applications are the same computer and are not at all able to work together! To make matters worse, Photos just will not import the mp4 into a shared album so I can have it on my iPhone!!!!???? How is it that all these Apple products are so incapable of working together? Thinking it's time to rethink Samsung now 🫤

Photos 8.0 on Ventura 13.1 ... export a frame from a video How do i export a frame from a video using Photos 8.0 on the new (ridiculously frustrating and complex) Ventura 13.1. This used to be so simple !!!!!!!!!!! Now 'File' ... "export frame to pictures' ... is in gray and i am unable to click on it. I am really so disgusted with Apple. Can someone please help. Thanks

Which system version do you have installed? On the newer system versions macOS 10.15 or newer, Photos for Mac can import mp4 videos, but only, if the codec is H.264 or HEVC. So check the video format with QuickTime Player and look at the codec in the Movie Inspector (View > Movie Inspector). Does the video have a supported codec?
