How do I correct my IPad Pro Smart Keyboard “accessory not available” error?

How do I correct my IPad Pro 2nd Generation Smart Keyboard “accessory not available” error? The keyboard unfortunately connects to the IPad intermittently. I have cleaned the contacts, rebooted, tried to straighten/reshape the “connection bar” that contains the contacts. Is there a permanent fix, or is the connection between the keyboard and IPad terminally fatigued after significant use?

Hi Broadmoor99,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We understand that your Smart Keyboard is unable to establish a solid connection to your iPad Pro, as an error message appears. We'll be happy to help.

There are additional steps available that may help. We suggest to follow the steps outlined in this helpful article: If you can't connect your iPad to your Magic Keyboard, Smart Keyboard, or Smart Keyboard Folio

Best regards.
