Is this normal for a Macbook Pro 13" 2020 battery?

My specs:

MacBook Pro 13" 2020

1.4ghz i5 quad-core processor

8GB memory

I purchased this machine October of this year (October 9 is when it arrived). Thus far I haven't used it for anything productive or crazy, mainly just web-browsing and video streaming. I use Firefox as my web-browser. Battery life has seemed iffy here and there at times, but today it was quite egregious and caught my eye. I did some light browsing on the internet and then watched a movie on Netflix. In total I clocked about 3hrs to go from 100% to 8% battery life. I just checked my cycle count too and am at 82, which strikes me as pretty high for only 3ish months of usage. I've gone whole days without using it and I find I average about 2-3 charges a day on this thing. Rarely do I have multiple tabs open, and if I do it's like 3 at the most.

I am no expert, but this strikes me as particularly weak. Is there anything I can do that won't impede my usage of this machine? Perhaps a way I can record this info and present it to Apple?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.15

The advertised battery runtime isn’t especially real-world. Streaming video is processor intensive, 3 hrs is reasonable for that. As an example, my 2017 15” MBP can go >8 hrs with email/PowerPoint/light browsing (literature searches, static content), but barely 3 hrs of Zoom meetings.

If you can work near an outlet, just use it plugged in as much as possible. It won’t harm your battery, rather it will extend the lifespan.

It all depends on the usage .Normally with batteries its quoted as around 1000 cycles .I would get rid of Firefox and just use safari (but thats your choice).Check all the settings for the battery , turn off bluetooth, set it to go sleep when not in use ,out the hard drive to sleep when possible ,dim the screen when its on battery power etc , don't have the display really bright, these are just a few little tips .

It should not affect your files , but its always best to back up all files etc weekly ,again depending on if you have really important files
