'update apple id settings' just spins after entering password

I'm just migrating from an iphone6 to the iphone12. Under settings it says i need to sign in so that other apps can work, but when i enter my pwd for my apple id it just spins, then freezes on that screen.

my gmail doesn't work yet either though my other email account is fine.

Trouble updating Apple ID settings I need to update my IOs and the iphone 7 keeps on asking me to type in my Apple ID password, but as soon as I type it in, the field disappears and again, it asks me to type the password in. Sometimes, I can type fast enough to hit continue, but then, again, it disappears and asks me to type. It is a vicious loop that I cannot get out of I tried to log out of my icloud account as per a previous suggestion, but I cannot type in my Apple ID password for that either.

Update apple id settings I recently transferred my data to a different iPhone and it has asked me too update my apple id settings, I click continue and I sign in to my apple id. I then click done and the loading circle appears next to the continue button. I left it for about an hour and it is still turning. How do I fix this?

Try completely shutting down the device for a few minutes. Then restart and skip setting up the Apple ID. Finish setting up the device and then set up the Apple ID.
