iMessage forwarding and read receipts

None of my short code texts are being forwarded to my macbook air but every other text forwards over fine. Also I noticed that when I message myself, it will show the texts read even though read receipt is disabled. But this only happens when I message myself. All my other contacts don't receive read receipts. This has never happened on my previous macbooks and I have tried restarting as well as signing in and out of iMessage and iCloud multiple times to no avail. Any advice?
