If your computer doesn’t have the older USB Type-A ports, but instead has the newer USB-C connections - or if your iPad Pro has a USB-C port and only the supplied USB-C to USB-C cable - you simply need the correct cable.

As such, you should already have a Lightning to USB Type-A and/or a USB-C to USB-C cable.

Now, if your iPad is disabled or you have forgotten your iPad passcode, you’ll need to follow this process:
If you’ve forgotten the passcode on your iPad, or your iPad is disabled – Apple Support
You’ll need access to either a PC (with iTunes installed) or a Mac (with iTunes or Finder - as appropriate for the installed version of MacOS).
You’ll also need your AppleID and associated password. If these have also been forgotten, they can be recovered here:

Unless you AppleID account has not been fully/correctly configured, or has been seriously neglected, recovery of the AppleID and password should not be difficult.

My pad Pro is disabled. In trying to undo that, I'm told to connect it to the computer. However, the cord is not a typical USB one. How do I connect it to the computer?
