Charging my iphone (xr)
my phone wont charge when plugged into a cable unless the battery is dead,it then starts charging and if i remove it,it wont charge and again i have to wait till my battery is dead

Are you sure this is an issue with your iPhones battery? It may be a problem with your charger. Try to use multiple different charging bricks and cables.
If the problem persists I would recommend getting your battery looked at or replaced by Apple.
