Final Cut Pro project skips straight to the end of the project

Suddenly, whenever I press play (either the button or the spacebar) the project just skips right to the end of the project. I can't watch any of it, anywhere I start it goes right to the end. I've tried resetting preferences, and making new libraries/projects. What should I do?

Start by deleting preferences.

To delete preferences, hold down command and option while starting FCP X and click Delete Preferences.

The application will start in a default state, and open an "Untitled" library. Reopen the library you were working on, set the preferences the way you like them, and try again.

If the problem persists: does it also happen in a new project? Just create a project, add one or two clips. Does it play?

If so, the problem may be in the project. In that case, select all, Copy, make a new project, Paste.

Does this new project work correctly?
