I have a macbook air A1370 tath I got from my daughter. I want to use it to FaceTime

I erased operating system to install new. After download using any of various methods I get insrtall new copy of LION, MCA OS X Lion. That goes fine until I get "can't download additional components" I have tried 3 different methods of downloading operating system.

While I buy my employees iPhones, and buy iPads for my wife and daughter, this is my first experinece with mac since 1989. So far not so much fun.

The A1370 was the MacBook Air that either was recovery ready, or wasn't. You'll need to read the serial number off the underside to verify if it is a 2011 model or a 2010 model. Do not convey the number here. Use this link to verify its age:

Only 2011 models could use Apple's system recovery via internet. 2010 models came with a recovery USB Stick that included Mac OS X 10.6. See this FAQ on their installation maximum and where to get the downloads from*:

A1370 could refer to either year.

So I download the correct .dmg file to a usb, hold down the "option" key and reboot? Or is there more to it?
