There is no Install executable in the Big Sur applications folder

The Install executable is required for creating the install media. But it is not present in the Applications folder. Where can it be found? Not, apparently, anywhere on my hard drive. Thanks for any advice.

You have to download the installer first, then it will be sitting in your Applications folder, for ex "Install macOS Big Sur.app"

If it was downloaded once and you ran the installer successfully—it automatically deletes itself with no trace.
