Installer.app missing on laptop

After downloading macOS Big Sur, the installer doesn't start on it's own. I'm running macOS Sierra. If I search for installer.app on my laptop, it doesn't give me any results either.

I believe the actual name of the installer app is "Install macOS Big Sur". It should be located in your Applications folder.

There is no Install executable in the Big Sur applications folder The Install executable is required for creating the install media. But it is not present in the Applications folder. Where can it be found? Not, apparently, anywhere on my hard drive. Thanks for any advice.

The high sierra installer on app store launches mojave, not high sierra? When I follow the link to get Mac OS High Sierra, it opens in the app store, then instead of 'install' or 'get' I see a button that says 'open'. When I click this it launches the Mojave installer which tells me I cannot install Mojave without installing 10.13.2 first. How do I get around this one Apple? Mac Pro 5,1 (firmware upgraded early 2009) Radeon HD 7950 GPU OS 10.11.6
