macOS Monterey 12,1 appears on system report as installed although I never installed it!

Hello,

MacBook Pro, 2020,

system version macOS 11.6.3

On my installation report, macOS Monterey 12,1 seems to have been installed automatically even though I never installed it and am running Big Sur!

What's going on?

Thank you!

/Applications / "Install macOS Monterey.app"

you can launch it from there like any other application. The installer app will no longer be available there after it runs—removing itself.

Always advised to have a current backup before you do a OS upgrade—only in this way can you fall back if necessary.
