Help with podcast!

I have a complex question I hope someone can walk me through.


I am trying to link a podcast that I am producing to the iTunes store. I am using something called "BuzzSprout."


My understanding of what I need to do, is that I need to do the following:

  1. Create an apple ID and password.
  2. login/join iTunes Connect and the iTunes store
  3. Make sure that I have a payment method listed for my apple ID account
  4. Link the podcast


I succeeded in doing steps #1 and 2.


However, for some reason when I tried to type my payment information into the field, it WOULD NOT ALLOW ME TO DO SO. The "Name" field, the "Address" field, every field will accept input, but NOT the payment field for credit/debit card number.


Because I am unable to input payment info, I cannot complete the process of linking my podcast.


To complicate things, I somehow forgot the new Apple ID password I had created. After guessing a few times unsuccessfully, I was locked out of logging in.


I waited 24 hours, then chose the option "I forgot my password," and was given the option to type in a code that I received on my cell phone.


I then got a message which said, "we do not have enough information to change your password, you will receive an email giving instructions what to do next."


My questions are this:


  1. Why wouldn't Apple allow me to type my debit/credit card payment information into the field, when every other field worked?
  2. The only information I have associated with my newly created Apple ID is my cell phone number, so when I get an email asking for more confirmation information, what else can I possibly do? The only information Apple has about me is the phone number, Apple ID and password which I accidentally forgot!


If anyone else has an easy way to explain the process for linking a podcast to the iTunes store, PLEASE give me guidance! Thank you!

This isn't so much a podcasting problem as one with the iTunes payment method. I can only suggest you contact Support - https://getsupport.apple.com and navigate through the options. However I should add that the card in question must be registered with a company in the country which you are currently in, and you must be using the iTunes Store for that country. If those to conditions are met I'm afraid it's a question for Support - no-one on this user to user forum can help you.
