HOW CAN I TELL IF MY MAC IS INFECTED WITH KERANGER?

I am on a family sharing plan - two MacBook Airs. One has Cataline OS and the Other has Big Sur. Bought an HP printer and it had trouble connecting to the lack of drivers for Big Sur. When talking with HP Printer tec support, he told us that the Keranger Virus ahd infected us. How do I know if this is true and how can I resolve if it is?

The so called support tech was talking garbage. Keranger is pretty much ancient history, and has been included in malware signatures for OSX for several years. There is a neutral (not biased to antivirus suppliers) description at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KeRanger

You would know if you had been infected, you would be unlikely to not notice the ransomeware demand and all your files getting encrypted.
