When I try to download certain App's iPod touch says I need most recent iOS version

I have an ipod touch, with soft ware 6.1.6. When I try to download certain App's, it says I need version 9. The model number is M0544ll/A

I assume there are such iOS versions of 13 or 14 available since the apps state the requirement, but iTunes says my Touch 7 has the latest software version (iOS 12.5.7). iPod touch models & version updates January 2020 I've looked at the model number, but I am unable to verify the version my iPod touch. (I am not able to determine what generation I have.) I am trying to use Amazon Music app and it recently updated to allow version 9.4, but my iPod touch is stating it's current at 9.3.5 and I am unable to use the app. Do we contact to find out if Apple needs to send out an update?

Unfortunately, the 4th generation iPod Touch can not be updated further.
