SCAM? - Do Apple Pay merchants need the customer to complete a payment verification process to get a product or get their purchase refunded?

Has anyone ever heard of Apple Cash merchants needing the customer to complete a payment verification process to get a product or get their purchase refunded? Need help on this ASAP! Not sure if it’s a scam or something on the Apple Pay Merchant side?!

There is no verification for Apple Cash. You send and they get.

Apple Cash cannot be refunded if you have been the victim of a scam. There is no buyer protection for Apple Cash. You must report it to the police and report it here - Get Support
If the scam happened on social media (Facebook/Instagram, etc.) you need to let them know as well.
