I just received word that my MS Office 2016 will no longer be updated, supported, etc. I have the Apple suite but have not used it much. Should I also update MS Office at a price or just get used to Pages, etc.? I was a heavy user of MS when I was working but am only a light user now.

If you want something free that is much more similar to MS Office than Pages etc. you may want to try Libre Office. It is very good. https://www.libreoffice.org/
