External DVD drive does not mount on Mac Os 11.1

The external CD/DVD drive worked on my 2019 MacBook Pro 16" before I updated to Big Sur..

The Finder Preferences are checked to display the mounted external drives. No external mounted drives are displayed. What is needed to get the drive to mount and display on the desktop?

USB SuperDrive not working after macOS Big Sur 11.6 update I was able to play DVD's on my M1 MacBook Air with my USB SuperDrive prior to installing the recommended macOS Big Sur 11.6 update. Afterwards, the SuperDrive mounts but no longer plays the DVD's. Any ideas for a fix?

My iPod does mount but not the CD/DVD drive..
