Back up help

HI - My phone shut down recently and when I went to restore the iCloud back up it showed the most recent back up was 3 months ago, even through I backed it up last week - via laptop / iCloud. I now have lost a lot of contacts and numbers and don't know how to get them back. Can anyone help to restore recent back up override? Thank you
