Can't Rename BluetoothAccessory in Big Sur

Big Sur on iMac won't rename a Bluetooth Keyboard when I right-click; the only option offered is 'Remove', not 'Rename' as per online advice.

catalina - can't change name of bluetooth device in catalina, i can't change the name of my mac keyboard and mouse. They've been moved from another device (unpaired from the previous device) but the old name sticks. After renaming in System Preferences, it appears that the change has completed, but quitting and reopening System Preferences show that the names revert. I've tried pairing/unpairing and changing the names of this keyboard and mouse (both apple wireless) on 2 different systems - a mac mini and a 2016 MBP: both running 10.15.5

"Rename" is missing from Bluetooth Dropdown Menu In my Bluetooth Devices drop down menu, the option "Rename" is missing. How can I add that? Thanks. (MacOS Monterey 12.3)

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities. We understand that you're looking for options to remain one of your Bluetooth devices. Depending on the device, it may not allow you to change the name. If you're not seeing the option "Rename" then it's not permitted by the manufacturer. This is noted in article, Change the name of a Bluetooth accessory.
