Apple TV can’t find movie under putchases
I bought a movie for children a couple of years or so ago but can’t find in my library or under purchase history despite searching ++. Any ideas?

Could it be that you made the purchase with a different content provider?
Could it be that this happened when using another Apple ID account?
That could be a reason why it isn’t reflected on your current account.
Try finding it again in your purchase history. When you find it, note down the Order ID number and purchase date.

Depending on device where you look it up, you may need to set a range (year) to see purchases from that time. My purchase history lists it all the way back to my first purchase from 2005, including a few items that are no longer for sale in the iTunes Store.
If you keep your old emails for purchases, then you would have received an invoice at that time with the purchase details.
