Apple USB-C to Lightning Cable

Can the Apple USB-C to Lightning Cable be used to transfer data from an old mac with USB port to the new Mac M1 2020. photo library in particular?

Lightning port on a Mac? Maybe you mean a Thunderbolt port (since it uses a lightning type symbol)?

Lightning port/cable is an iPhone Interface. It is not used directly on a Mac.
