Admin Password logs in, but not accepted for changing prefereces

I upgraded to Big Sur on my 15 MacBook Pro, I can log in with my Admin password, but my same admin password does not work to change preferences? How can I resolve this? I was hoping to get Touch ID working again after I resolve this.

Big Sur = BIG ISSUES I am having an awful time getting my admin access to work on my computer now. I cannot get it to unlock to add a user, I cannot update security or passwords, it only lets me update the password to log into my computer at start up. I have a MacBook Pro. I also cannot get Touch ID to work at all. I tied re-adding a Touch ID and it will not let me. The admin access I am supposed to have DOES NOT work. Please help.

Administrative passwords issues I’m the administrative user on my MAC, but since upgrading to Big Sur, I’ve had issues changing my preference security settings because my administrative password no longer works. I’ve reset the password many times and it continues to display “incorrect password”. I’m able to log into my MAC just fine, but unable to access or change my security settings due to the incorrect password. Is this a bug? Is there a solution to setting the administrative password?

Admin PW & Touch ID Since installing Big Sur on my MacBook Air (13" 2018) i can use my login admin user name and PW & can sign into my computer. The same admin logo in PW will not allow me to unlock the security system lock in the bottom left corner in system Preferences. I only have one admin name & no guest. How can I find out if there is another in my system that will work or fins the related password. I have already reinstalled BigSur with no change. Also Touch ID is not working
