I RECEIVE AN INPUT/OUTPUT ERROR (5) WHEN TRYING TO UPDATE FROM TUXERA NTFS 2019 TO VERSION 2020 THROUGH PREFERENCE PANE?

This is a known issue with 2019 version. To upgrade your 2019 version, we recommend you to download the updated package https://tuxera.com/mac/tuxerantfs_2020.dmg to install the latest 2020 version. Please note that you can use the .dmg file to upgrade directly to the 2020 and it is not necessary to uninstall your current version before performing the upgrade. However if you are having issues with the 2020 upgrade, you can always contact our support at macsupport@tuxera.com

I had a similar problem. The fix is actually easy. Once you have downloaded the free trial (assuming this is what you did) and have it up and running just go to Tuxera's home page, https://ntfsformac.tuxera.com and download the tuxerantfs_2020.dmg. Run it, it will overwrite the 2019 version. Then sort out the permissions in Security and Privacy and it will all be updated with your 15 days free trial still available.
