tuxera update will not open / ERROR while performing update input/output error (5)I have receintly upgraded to Catalina on a mid2012 13' MBP 500ssd 16gb ram.

I RECEIVE AN INPUT/OUTPUT ERROR (5) WHEN TRYING TO UPDATE FROM TUXERA NTFS 2019 TO VERSION 2020 THROUGH PREFERENCE PANE?

This is a known issue with 2019 version. To upgrade your 2019 version, we recommend you to download the updated package https://tuxera.com/mac/tuxerantfs_2020.dmg to install the latest 2020 version. Please note that you can use the .dmg file to upgrade directly to the 2020 and it is not necessary to uninstall your current version before performing the upgrade. However if you are having issues with the 2020 upgrade, you can always contact our support at macsupport@tuxera.com

Encountered the same issue just now. All I did was open the installer package by right-clicking and show package. Go to Mac folder then run the installer from the terminal. My Tuxera updated and problem solved. Hope this helps. HNY!

I had a similar problem. The fix is actually easy. Once you have downloaded the free trial (assuming this is what you did) and have it up and running just go to Tuxera's home page, https://ntfsformac.tuxera.com and download the tuxerantfs_2020.dmg. Run it, it will overwrite the 2019 version. Then sort out the permissions in Security and Privacy and it will all be updated with your 15 days free trial still available.

Solved too downloading the pre-release version with Big Sur support, allowing Kernel extension, and after re-start it works!

I solved the problem by first installing the release candidate and then doing the update.

I’ve actually uninstalled Bootcamp. It’s no longer relevant thanks to VMware Fusion https://www.vmware.com/uk/products/fusion/fusion-evaluation.html) using their awesome FREE licence. Works a treat and Windows runs in tandem with Big Sur. Sweet. Tuxera and Paragon’s days are numbered in this field! Sorry guys.

Same here on Big Sur 11.1 (MBP 13 inch, early 2015)

Same issue with MacBook Air 2019 and Mac 2015 both with Big Sur. Maybe is due to the new iOs that run app in 64Bit instead 32. Hoping that Tuxera will update the new version without this error/bug.
