I can AirPlay to my AppleTv3rdGen the Preview of a class but you turn it off when the actual workout starts! It even mirror the countdown 3..2..1.. and then magically when the workout starts it vanishes and only displays on the phone.
Is that a tech limitation or you're actually forcing me to buy an Apple TV HD/4K on purpose.. I'd bet on the latter knowing your past tendency to force us to do things we don't want.. such as buying a new phone.

I’m not talking about having the fitness + app available from within the Apple TV app I’m talking about simply screen mirroring which is different.
or if you tell me that’s the only way to have fitness + even for Apple TV HD/4K?
That’s an ascertainment but again that doesn’t answer my technical question.
if I can mirror the preview of a class in my Apple TV there is no technical challenge to do the same for the actual class it’s the same video format and if there is a case about disabling the add on feature such as the metrics that’s a very easy one.
So until someone tells me the technical requirements that blocks the screen mirroring of my fitness class through my TV other than forcing me to buy the next gem I’ll assume the latter.
Because again I’m not talking about the fitness app on Apple TV HD or 4K
The technical side is that you need tvOS 14.3 to run fitness + on an TV.
It is not just viewing a video, it must be connected to an Watch Series 3 or later running watchOS 7.2 or later.
You also cannot run fitness + even on an TV HD/4K without updating to tvOS 14.3.
In short your TV 3rd generation does not qualify.

It's only supported on an TV HD or an TV 4K models running tvOS 14.3 or later.
Nope, there's no other way.
You need either TV HD or TV 4k running tvOS 4.3 to view fitness+ videos.
