Hi All, My Apple Watch 3 is only showing a 4GB capacity (which should be showing 8GB) which is making updates difficult. I have only found 1 other thread on this with no solution. Has anyone else run into this?

Good evening (on my side) fieryjack ,
I have 2 of the same watch in the house and one is showing 7.3GB capacity and the other 4 with very similar apps installed (no music/media) I do understand the OS (same on both) takes a significant amount of space (3+GB ) but am confused why one has a proper-ish max capacity and the other doesn't. I'd love your thoughts on this if you have time. (in the meantime Ill explore the installed apps on each more closely and reply here about the same time tomorrow) My understanding of your explanation is with a 3GB OS both should be showing roughly a 5GB total space.

Your reply does not apply to my issue. The primary issue is my Apple Watch 3 A1859 which according to apple watch shows 4GB total space capacity available. How to resolve this? This is not an issue about not enough space available for an update.

Have 8GB total storage show as total capacity.
You won't get 8Gb, the operating system takes up a large chunk of storage,then there is the reserved space for updates and there are temporary system caches,and watch apps take up space.
