iPhone 12 Pro Max isnt shooting in Dolby Vision

I am trying to reliably understand how to set my 12 pro max for shooting in Dolby Vision HDR. I've ensured the Camera Formats setting is High Efficiency and the HDR Video button is selected under Record Video. I do always see HDR for all the scenarios mentioned below (but it's not DV).

But when I export to my macbook pro over Airdrop, I see first the iPhone is "converting" (flag #1) and then in Finder, I can see that the exported clip has Color Profile of HD (1-1-1) ( flag #2). When I import this clip in FCP, I indeed see the clip has the Rec 709 color space.

I had it working ONE time but have no idea how I did it. Once I do it correctly I'll see 1) no conversion over airdrop and 2) the color space will be BT.2020 HLG (9-18-9)

Any suggestions as to what I'm missing?

Thank you

Ok on subsequent tests I used a direct cable to import into FCP. Yet, I still see two different color spaces based on settings I'm not sure which. 1) HD (1-1-1) FCP sees as Rec 709 and 2) BT.2020 HLG (9-18-9) FCP sees as Rec 2020 HLG

Is it perhaps because I choose slo-mo (at 720)?

Also, in the attached screenshot, what does that small icon in the upper left corner indicate ?
