so the lock to make changes won't unlock what do i do i entered the password and it doesn't work

but is the smc method going to reset everything like erase everything and start again?

^ btw this is the the thing that wont open like when i write the password it says that its wrong before i updated my mac to big sur it wasn't like this but now after i did the update its like this
