Why are the settings not retained on the AirPods Max? When I set all modes to be available (Noise Cancellation, Transparency and Off) it shows as having been retained but then (I haven’t determined how long) those choices revert back to the defaults. I’ve rebooted and reset the AirPods Max a few times now and the issue persists.

I take it back, it is not fixed.
I have the same issue and it’s really annoying. I have reset iPhone and headphones and it make no difference. I have unpaired the headphones and re-paired and it make no difference.
Well it seems like the issue has been fixed with the firmware update that was just released for the AirPod Max device.
