Apple Arcade and Screen Time breaking multiplayer

From previous thread: I have ‘content and privacy restrictions’ turned on for my kids iPads but this means the multiplayer function in the Apple Arcade apps won’t work.  I’ve tried changing all different settings but the only way I have got the multiplayer to work is to completely turn off the content and privacy restrictions which I obviously don’t want to do as this is one of the benefits of Screen Time.

Any update how to fix this without a Mac?

Mrwettstein,

Thanks for coming to Apple Support Communities for help allowing your kids to access multiplayer features in Apple Arcade apps without entirely disabling Screen Time Content & Privacy Restrictions. We're glad to help!

If you turn Content & Privacy Restrictions back on for each child, and then head into Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions > Content Restrictions, do you see the option for Multiplayer Games here? If so, you'll want to ensure it's set to Allow with Friends Only, or Allow with Everyone.

We can also recommend setting the Adding Friends option to Allow, if you'd like your kids to be able to add friends directly.

Here's a great resource with more information:
